Room decor: storage jars

I thought I would start off my blog with a lifestyle post seeing as I am in the process of re-decorating my room at the moment. Yesterday, I went on the hunt for cute bits and bobs for my bedroom and came across some adorable storage/decorative jars in my good friend TKMAX. As I'm a bargain hunter I was searching for a while until I found these three jars crammed at the back of the shelf and I couldn't resist. I purchased all three feeling chuffed until I arrived home and it came to filling them. I have no clue what to put inside them! I know, it may sound easy and your all thinking lip balms, cotton pads, makeup, candles but I wanted to make my jars more artistic. Eventually, I thought of three ideas for each jar and I thought I would share them with you just in case you ever end up purchasing some random jars like me.
My first and favourite jar is this open clasped, crimson jar. This was probably the hardest to fill seeing as it was the biggest. I wanted to fill it with some of my sewing equipment but it didn't look very pleasing to the eye. I wanted to make is look vintage and cute so I wondered around my room for a good ten minutes until I saw my extremely large button box which was full of all my buttons for sewing. I pored them all onto the floor and took out all the pastel coloured ones to place into the jar. It took while but eventually my masterpiece was finished. I was rather proud so I placed this on top of my dressing table in the centre of my room.

I know this is suppose to be used for home made cordials and such but I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this jar. Whilst I was shopping I purchased four packs of glitter (two blue and two silver). Then when I got home I filled this jar with the glitter. I started with a layer of silver on the bottom and then a layer of blue and then another layer of silver glitter ect until it was totally full of glitter. This is probably my favourite decoration idea because it really stands out on my desk but also looks very artistic.

For this jar I thought I would do something similar to the first one. I used to make a lot of jewlery with glass beads when I was younger and I came across my stash when I was cleaning out my room. Let's just say I had a lot and most of them were blue so I decided to pick out all the blue ones and fill this jar with blue beads.
I hope this post was usefull because I know many people like to fill jars with cute things for room decorations but I thought these ideas were a little different.
